Empower Aurora: A Million Reasons to Believe
Your support today is critical to ensure long term sustainability
On August 9, The Arc of Loudoun was, without notice, locked out of the campus that housed all our programs and was forced to abruptly relocate. Thanks to the immense generosity of our community, quick decisions, and long days, The Arc of Loudoun was able to successfully reopen all programs at The National Conference Center by September 15!
Now, we need your help to secure The Arc of Loudoun’s future.
The Goal
The impact of this relocation has caused significant financial strain. We’ve set a $1 million campaign goal to cover the costs of Aurora’s move and to ensure the long-term sustainability of The Arc of Loudoun.
Thanks to the extraordinary generosity from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation ($300,000), 100WomenStrong ($50,000), and other anonymous donors ($400,000), we are already more than 75% of the way there!
This is a pivotal moment
Together, we can Empower Aurora by restoring hope, stability, and opportunity for students, families, and the entire community.

The Arc of Loudoun’s program impact
- Aurora School is a K-12-day private day placement school for students with autism and other developmental disabilities. Aurora is a safe, supportive community that provides structure, stability, and the specialized instruction students need to thrive. Aurora School was closed for 18 days to move, set up, make required renovations, and get all of the state and local approvals needed to operate. Aurora reopened to students on Monday, September 15.
- Ability Fitness Center is a therapeutic fitness community for individuals with neurological disabilities. Ability Fitness Center relocated as planned (prior to the lockout) to The National Conference Center in just one weekend! When AFC reopened on August 4, clients were welcomed to 5,000 sq ft at NCC (a significant expansion from 1,200 sq ft), increasing the number of clients AFC can serve, including the addition of pediatric services.
- ALLY Advocacy Center provides free consultations, financial assistance, training, and community resources such as iCan Bike Camp and a region wide Disability Resource Fair. ALLY is now serving clients at The National Conference Center, community libraries and remotely.
