Loudoun County Launches Spanish-Language Text Messages on COVID-19 Loudoun County residents can now sign up to receive text messages in Spanish regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). To opt in for this service, text LCCOVIDESP to 888777. The county is launching the new service to provide an additional, easy-to-use way for members of our community who have Spanish as their primary language to receive information. Regular text messages published by Loudoun County will provide information about COVID-19 prevention and treatment, county programs and services to assist residents during the pandemic, key news updates and other timely and educational messages. This anonymous opt-in service is provided by Loudoun County free of charge; however, standard messaging and data rates may apply. Alert Loudoun will never request personal information, and residents may opt out of receiving messages at any time. The county reminds residents to rely on trusted sources for information on COVID-19, including the county’s website, which can be translated into Spanish and many other languages. In addition, resources in Spanish are posted at loudoun.gov/COVIDespanol for Spanish-speaking residents and for our partners serving this community. COVID-19 text alerts are also available in English for those who text “LCCOVID19” to 888777.
Loudoun Establishes Rental Assistance Program in COVID-19 Response The Loudoun County government has established a limited rental assistance program for Loudoun County households economically impacted by COVID-19. The Board of Supervisors has approved re-allocating $200,000 from the Eastern Loudoun County Home Revitalization Program to create the rental assistance program. The goal is to help ensure housing stability for low-income workers who have been furloughed, lost jobs or had work hours reduced due to the pandemic. The terms of the program include:
- Income eligibility based on household size for households earning up to 70% of the state median income ($60,332 for a family of 4).
- Direct payments made to landlords or property management companies on behalf of residents who qualify for the program.
- Assistance may be provided for up to three months’ rent.
Residents, who were current in their rent payments as of March 30, 2020, and who now need help paying rent may contact the county’s Information and Referral program at 703-777-0420. Members of the Department of Family Services’ Community Support Services team will verify income eligibility, conduct a case assessment, verify rent need and job impacts related to COVID-19. Applicants will be asked to submit related documents, such as a current lease and paperwork that shows a job loss or reduced income. The program will continue as long as the local emergency declaration is in effect and funding is available. A downloadable check list and application in Spanish is available as well. Emergency financial aid to individuals and families who reside in Loudoun County and have been affected by COVID-19
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington and Loudoun Cares are offering financial support to individuals impacted by COVID-19 that led to a loss of wages or the loss of employment. Individuals who live in Loudoun County and are in need of financial assistance may contact the COVID-19 Emergency Fund and Helpline at 703-669-5040. Callers will need to leave a message; calls will be returned within 48 hours. Financial assistance is limited due to demand. Click here for more information.
Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive automatic Economic Impact Payments
The Internal Revenue Service, working in partnership with the Treasury Department and the Social Security Administration, announced today that recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will automatically receive automatic Economic Impact Payments. Read more.

Job Title: Marketing and Events Manager
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Summary: The Marketing and Events Manager shares the story and impact of The Arc of Loudoun in the lives of people with disabilities and their families to the constituents we serve, our volunteers, supporters, and the community at large. The Manager is responsible for implementing a unified marketing and communications plan for the organization. This includes managing the marketing and communications needs and expanding the relationships with our organization’s stakeholders including people with disabilities and their families, members, volunteers, donors, self-advocates, staff, and the Loudoun County/Greater Washington DC community. The Manager will also provide graphic design support to the direct service programs, and oversee logistics and marketing of all organizational fundraising events. The Manager will implement the marketing, communications, and event objectives set by the Chief Development Officer to ensure the organization’s overall effectiveness.
Job Responsibilities
Marketing
The Marketing and Events Manager will publicize the organization’s activities, mission moments, initiatives, and information to our constituents as well as the greater community through direct mail, organizational collateral, event collateral, annual report, newsletter, websites, social media, videos, blogs, advertising, and other available marketing mediums, creating, coordinating and executing all content.
Communications and Media Relations
The Marketing and Events Manager will manage and implement the communications and media relations plan as directed by the Chief Development Officer, serve as the lead liaison with local and regional media outlets, write and send press releases, coordinate press conferences and media engagement, and serve as marketing and communications lead with organizational partners.
Graphics Design and Promotional Products
The Marketing and Events Manager will be responsible for graphic design and directing contracted graphic designers when necessary. The Chief Development Officer and The Marketing and Events Manager will create project plans for graphic design work required during projects. The Manager will oversee that The Arc’s Branding Playbook and graphics standards are included in the production of organizational collateral, annual report, and onsite event marketing. The Manager will also be responsible for developing and managing a photo library that can be accessible organization wide; an online video library of our mission moments and ALLY Educational series; and the online store including branded merchandise.
Representation in the Community
The Marketing and Events Manager will organize The Arc’s representation at community events, CFC/United Way engagements, and other groups with whom we collaborate to help spread awareness and market the initiatives of The Arc of Loudoun. The Manager will be the lead liaison to the organization’s Circle of Ambassadors, a select group of people specifically trained to officially represent our organization and speak on our behalf.
Event and Volunteer Management
The Marketing and Events Manager will oversee event management and logistics for The Arc of Loudoun fundraising events, including marketing, communications, administrative support, volunteer recruitment, volunteer management, and onsite, day-of support. Events include but are not limited to the award-winning Shocktober, My Bloody Valentine, Annual Meeting, other signature fundraising events, and “third party events”.
Required Qualifications (Essential Experience /Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational marketing skills
- Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, marketing collateral, social media, and digital media
- Experience in Adobe Photo Illustrator, In-Design, Publisher, Constant Contact, Facebook, Google Ads, Twitter, other social media platforms, Mail Chimp
- Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
- Computer literacy in word processing, database management

Ability Fitness Center is a gym for people with disabilities. We are a therapeutic fitness and wellness center with expert clinicians and specialized equipment providing access to innovative, customized, and activity-based interventions that increase functional ability for individuals with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, balance disorders, developmental disabilities, and other neurologic conditions.
The Aurora School is a 12-month day program that provides a collaborative and innovative learning environment for students 5-22 years of ages with Autism and other developmental abilities with high intensity behaviors.
Summary: Delivering Physical Therapy services and goals for clients and students between both Ability Fitness Center and The Aurora School.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist clients with their exercise programs including (transfers on/off equipment, set up of equipment, use of NMES, manual stretching, manual therapy)
- Assist the direction of all volunteers in the center

Program Information: The Aurora Behavior Clinic is a specialized program that is designed for children with autism and related developmental disabilities which not only emphasizes verbal behavior instruction but also focuses on increasing appropriate behavior and social skills.
ABA Program Manager Summary: Providing leadership and organizational management in the following areas: behavior-analytic programming, supervision of behavior therapists, staff development, parent training, and report writing.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload of 2-4 clients providing direct ABA services
- Supervise implementation of individualized treatment plans, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), or program goals
- Evaluate, develop and implement services for client’s skill acquisition procedures and behavior interventions
- Write high-quality behavior-analytic reports (e.g. progress reports, treatment plans, etc.)
- Supervise data collection using electronic data collection system
- Develop and maintain individualized behavior plans
- Work collaboratively and professionally with others such as parents, ABA therapists, OTs, PTs, SLPs, BCaBAs, and Directors
- Evaluate and provide ongoing feedback and trainings to staff
- Serve in leadership role providing feedback to ABA therapists

Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree desired
- Active SHRM member preferred
- PHR (or in process of) preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position frequently
- The person in this position needs to often move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machine, computer, and printer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with staff, vendors, and other professional personnel.
- Travels across property in outdoor weather conditions
